Play Date

I don’t know about ya’ll, but I love free entertainment for the family!  Today we had a wonderful play date at the Alexandria Splash Pad.  If you don’t have a splash pad near you…you need one!  This was the first time for myself and my daughter, and had it not started thundering, I don’t think I would have ever gotten her to leave.  It was so nice being able to let the kids play in the water while us moms got time to visit and enjoy one another.  I cherish the time I get to visit with my other mommy friends.  Life is so crazy now days, it is so refreshing to just take the time to invest in one another’s lives.  Not to mention to be able to do all of this without having to spend money.  So a huge thanks D for inviting us out today!  It was a fabulous idea!

If you don’t have a splash pad to take the kids to, how about a local park!  Schedule time when it is still cool.  Our mall also has a small play area for little ones.  It’s nice to be able to have them indoors when it’s so hot out.  Indoor playgrounds like those at Chik-fil-A are awesome for play dates as well.  They don’t force you to buy a meal in order to let the kids play.  Go in between meals to keep your cost down.  Not to mention the crowds will be gone.

What do you and your family do for free/cheap entertainment?  What do your play dates look like?
